Hand over your workspace

When someone else takes over the posting (a new committee member, a new marketing lead), give them a handover code. When they use it, they become the workspace owner and you leave. Everything the group has built stays where it is.

Make a handover code

  1. Open Workspace settings

Go to Settings → Workspace and find Hand over this workspace.
  2. Make the code

Choose Make a handover code. Making a new one cancels any older code.
  3. Give it to the next person

Send them the code. They can use it while signing up (in Taking over from someone?) or later from Settings → Workspace → Join another workspace.

What moves, and what doesn't

Stays with the workspace: the brand book, drafts, scheduled and published posts, analytics, the Bio page and connected channels.

Changes: the new person becomes the owner and you're no longer a member. API keys you created for this workspace are switched off, so any agent or integration you set up stops posting. The new owner can create their own.

Why it isn't available on paid plans

A paid plan is billed to the current owner's card. Handing over would leave the billing behind, so handover is switched off while a workspace is on Solo or Agency (or pays for other workspaces). Cancel the plan first, or email [email protected] and we'll move it for you.

If the code doesn't work

  • It's your own code: give it to the person taking over; you can't use it yourself.
  • Expired or already used: ask the owner for a new one.
  • No longer valid: the owner who made it has changed. Ask the current owner for a new code.
