Good to know

Where does it get its answers?
From your content only: the pages it crawls from your site, anything you paste in, and the facts in your brand kit. It cites the sources it used, and when something is not in your content it says it does not know and points the visitor to you. It will not invent policies, prices or dates.
What does it cost?
Site Chat is in preview on the Community plan, which includes a monthly allowance of replies. Unanswered turns never cost a reply. There are no per-seat fees, and pricing for wider release will be published before it leaves preview.
Is the chat recorded, and is that a problem?
Yes, every conversation is recorded so you can read it and improve. The panel tells visitors it is an AI assistant and that chats may be recorded, with a stricter consent mode you can switch on. We store the country a visitor is from, not their raw IP address, and each transcript is hash-chained so it cannot be quietly altered.
How much can I change how it looks?
The colour, launcher position, welcome message, starter-question bubbles and a call-to-action button are all yours to set. It starts on-brand from your brand kit, so it usually looks right before you touch a thing.
How do I put it on my site?
Paste one script tag before the closing body tag on your pages. It works on any site, and you choose which domains it is allowed to run on. Pause it any time from your dashboard.
